The idea to create an illustration for Our Unfinished Summer book cover came from the need to visually translate the warmth and emotional depth of the story into a captivating design.The creative process began with understanding the narrative—a heartfelt tale of self-discovery and second chances set in a small seaside town. With this in mind, we sketched a cover that immediately shows the nostalgia and charm of a summer love story while capturing the attention of readers.On the front cover we decided to feature the protagonists, Emma and Jake, sitting on a pier surrounded by the serene coastal scenery of Sandy Shores. The warm color palette reflects the peaceful yet poignant atmosphere of the book.The final result shows a cover that not only tells a story visually but also creates an emotional connection with the target audience, inviting them to dive into the story before even turning the first page.

She asked for an illustration that could visually capture the charm and mystery of her narrative, creating an instant connection with her readers.The creative process began with a detailed brief: a whimsical sunset featuring Winona and Rosetta, sharing a picnic, surrounded by subtle details that symbolize their friendship journey. The warm and earthy tones, paired with the glow of fireflies and starlit skies, evoke a sense of youthful wonder.
The final design captures the spirit of Growing Paws: a tale of friendship, growth, and adventure. It invites readers into Winona and Rosetta’s world, blending the innocence of a meadow picnic with the intrigue of the secrets that surround them.
